I have bought three Acer screens in a row and all three had dead pixels within a week. Then I bought a Samsung and I have been using it for three years now and it is still working great. First thing that always dies on us (we're an HP family) is the monitor. The off-brand ones seem to work better for us. If you can afford don't settle down for more than 2s response time. If you can't afford, stick to at least 5s don't go for 8s or so.. pretty poor performance.. 2s are great replacement for CRT to do all imaging and so.. lemme know what did you buy?? :) mine is 17 inch widescreen toshiba laptop whatever you buy, please check their response time because, it matters a lot.
