6 Important Steps in Making People Like You

friends at a club smiling for the cameraThere really should be no limit on the amount of friends you make. The more friends you make, the more opportunities you can open for yourself. You will be invited to go out more often, you’ll meet more potential life mates, you could open opportunities and and chances of getting yourself to a better position job-wise. You don’t need to know someone very long to befriend them, and most of it is in the first impression. Impress someone when you first meet them with the following advice, and you should be on your way to a better social life in no time.

1. Make yourself generally interested in someone else. Even if this person is the most boring person you’ve ever met, and wants to talk about the mating process of Galapagos tortoises, take it as a chance to learn and listen to something you may not know. Start by shaking their hand instead of asking someone else to introduce you.

2. Spread those lips and bring your cheeks up. Greet those new people with a big, real smile. Walking around with a frown on your face gives the first impression that you aren’t a very happy camper. No one likes talking to the crabby guy.

3. Remember their name. Write it down, take a picture and save the name of them in your phone, or say it over 10 times until you remember their name. A person’s name is held onto within their central nervous system, as well as a person’s heart. When you call a person by their name, you grow a spot in their heart right next to their name. It sounds a lot better than, “Hey, Dude!”

4. Open them ears, sonny. People love letting you listen to their rants. Instead of blocking out what another person is saying, encourage them to talk about what they are passionate for. This goes hand in hand with being interested in someone else. If you can learn to listen attentively, no matter the subject, you can learn a lot about what a person is like, as well as gain a bit of knowledge.

5. When a person finishes their rant, why don’t you persuade them to talk more about that topic. Talk in favor of what they were talking about. Even if you hate tortoises, talk about them like you love them. A little fib like this never hurt anyone. Talk about their interests with favoritism towards their point of view, and you should lock in their liking of you.

6. Talk highly of the other person. Make them feel important. Don’t make it cheesy though. Speak honestly and sincerely. By making another person feel important, you are building a link between the two of you. People love it when you look up to them, and they will want more attention from you. If the person has some modesty, they’ll want to share the feeling with you.

Remember to stay positive and actively interested in the other person. Following these basic hints, you should be able to build a portfolio of friends that will benefit you like a work portfolio. Look forward to the increased opportunities you open yourself to with new acquaintances and friends.

10 Things You Should Know How to Do

Teen girl studying about lifestyle and productivity. It’s nice to have a little help guide you through your life, but life only gets better when you can learn to be self-relient. Self-relience leads to a better sense of self, increase confidence and the ability to be more productive. While specialization is nice for a job and money, you will be the entreprenuer and CEO of your own life with more skills. Being a jack of all trades is far more productive for the real world.

Therefor, we are ready to give you the insight you need to do 10 different things throughout your life.

1. Start a Fire - We all need heat and light, two things obtainable by fire. While most modern homes use modern heating stystems, there may be some random day where you are stuck in the wilderness with nothing but your two hands, no matches, no light and no warmth.

2. How to Take a Job Interview - A job interview takes suave speaking skills and simplicity. Stressing yourself out and lacking confidence won’t get you through it.

3. Park it in Parallel Style - You learned it before you got your driver’s license, but since then, you probably haven’t done it much if at all. It is an necessity if you want to park close to a major event, rather than pay 20 dollars for a parking spot two miles away.

4. Know your Basic Geography - If you still think the capitol of Alaska is Anchorage, you need a few more lessons in geography. Knowing a little about your countries geography and cities may make you look more intelligent and traveled.

5. Put Together a TV and Sound System - I just purchased a TV and a sound system. Rather than pay the store guys a couple hundred more to set it up for me, I put in the research and hooked it up myself.

6. Use a Computer - If you are reading this, you are using a computer. If you don’t know how the hell you got to this page, what a mouse is, and where you stick your USB storage device, then you need some help… serious, serious help.

7. Use your Time - Time management just makes things more possible. Free up the time you have on your hands by planning ahead and carrying out task efficiently.

8. Separate the Good Produce from the Bad - It always amazed me how my mother knew what fruits were good and which weren’t. I didn’t know, I just ate what she gave me. Living on my own, now, I need to know what fruits and veggies to pick out if I want to live a healthy life.

9. Paint your House - Paying someone else to paint your house can be expensive. The paint can come cheap, but if you pay someone else, your budget may soar by thousands of dollars. Do it yourself, and with patience and planning, you will get it done for hundreds to thousands less.

10. End a Bad Date… Nicely - I’ve been through my fair share of bad dates. I actually had one this night. If I would have had these tips, maybe she wouldn’t have sworn halfway across the restaurant at me. Oops.

There are plenty of other things you can do to increase your life skills and productivity. Blogosis will be sure to share them with you. If you liked this post, subscribe to get more! And don’t forget to Digg or Stumble this post!

7 Foods You Should Eat, But Don’t

Food, the real drive of life. Don’t deny that no matter how much you would like to get away from it, you could never get away from your favorite snack foods and cravings. Sometimes, you just got to healthy it up, though. There are several foods we could try to replace our favorites, but here are some of the healthiest and most nutritious foods you could eat. You probably haven’t tried them yet…

foods-should-eat-dont 7 Foods You Should Eat, But Dont

Kale

We all loved it when Moma would tell us to eat our vegetables. Moma was right, and you should have listened to her. One green, leafy vegetable she never fed you, though, was kale. Boil up a cup of kale and consume. You just got your daily value of vitamin A times two! On top of this, you’ll take in a little bit of the B-complex vitamins, some vitamin C, as well as a bountiful amount of calcium. Kale takes a conisuer’s tongue, so the taste may not be for everyone. Check out other similar greens like Swiss chard, collards, and mustard greens if you just can’t swallow Kale.

Avocado

I, for one, love avocado! To bad it costs 5 dollars for a small dip-bowl of guaccamole in Thailand, otherwise I’d be eating it everyday, especially after knowing this information. It contains pockets of monosaturated, cholesterol lowering nutrients making it extremely healthy for your heart. It also contains proteins, vitamins A, B, and E, potassium, as well as copper (a nutrient not normally found in non-meat foods).

Barley

Barley seems to be a long lost and forgotten food source. Used in a plentiful amount in our history, it is all but lost unless you are getting it from your alcohol, beers, and wines (which is good in small amounts, occasionally…) Barley’s can provide one with 25% of a person’s daily value of fiber in just one cup. It also contains high fields of potassium, protein, and iron. Other grains in barley’s family can only help it’s benefits, too.

Lentils

The lentil is a popular ingredient of thick stews, soups and chili, but outside of that scope, many people just don’t eat them. You should consider it though, because of its high protein and fiber aspects. A cup of lentil will provide your body with nearly 50 percent of your necessary daily intake of protein; it will give you a 65% boost in your fiber consumption. Lentils are also high in iron, calcium, B vitamins, copper, phosphorus, and potassium. I forgot to mention one more thing, though. There is no fat.

Soybeans

One cup of soybeans can take 40% of your daily value of protein off your list of things to do for the day. You will also find it fulfilling some fiber, calcium, iron, phosphorus, magnesium, and potassium needs. The FDA loves soybeans so much that they added to a list of foods that can help reduce the chances of forming heart harming illnesses. Menopausal women make claims that consuming soybeans can lower the heat from hot flashes, but the estrogen in it may increase the risk of breast cancer.

Sweet Potato

Need a little vitamin A in your diet. This Thanksgiving favorite can fill it for a week! A cup of our favorite potato can fill five times the daily value of vitamin A. There are also featured as high resources of vitamin C and numerous other minerals such as calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium, and phosphorus. As with lentils, sweet potatos are a fat-free miracle.

Dried Figs

You will not find figs in Fig Newtons (Dissappointing, I know), but you will find them in any grocery store! I highly recommend you go pick some up as they are extremely high in calcium. Eat just 10, and you’ve matched the calcium percentages of a cup of milk. You’ll also get plenty of fiber, Bi-complex vitamins, a little potassium, and iron to sprinkle the top.

Blogosis is Back

blogosis-blog-magazine-news1 Blogosis is Back

As you can see, I’m here and back working on Blogosis. I’ve been away for about 3 - 4 months now, and I just felt it was time to get back on track. You’ll probably notice, though, that Blogosis isn’t the same.

I’ve transitioned to a news/magazine style blog. This allows for a lot more freedom in the overall design and topics covered on Blogosis. I’m no longer just covering the topic of blogs and blogging alone, although that will still remain core to Blogosis and always will. However, I’m am spreading out the expertise of Blogosis to cover a vast range of topics from entertainment, politics, gaming and more. It is due to the fact that I am breaking away from just the blogging blogger niche, and into an alternative and opinionated source of news in blogging format.

The blog gives freedom to express one’s opinion and ideas, while news sources need to be factual and informational. There is no entertainment value to the news which is why I am here to change that. Opinion is full of entertainment and emotion.

So with that being said and done, I’d like to open the doors of Blogosis once again.

If anyone would like to join the team here at Blogosis (so far, it is just me), feel free to jump aboard. You get a shiny new @blogosis.com email, access to review current news with an opinion, let your voice be heard, and when advertising bonuses start rolling in, trust me when I say you will get a big piece of cake. Eventually, I plan to make Blogosis big enough to have its own office full of staff. Shiny.

E-mail me if you want in at contact@justindupre.com.

PS3 Webpages Get Hacked

playstation-3-hacked PS3 Webpages Get Hacked

A couple of webpages advertising games (SingStar Pop and God of War) for the United States Playstation 3 gaming console were “compromised” says virus and internet security analysis company “Sophos.”

SQL injection vulnerabilities in the PS3 websites were taken advantage of, and subsequently, the hackers introduced a code that showed pop-ups. The pop-ups showed a false message telling the user that their computer was under attack by a virus. They would then be led to a website selling virus-fighting software. It’s a little black hat, but that is good affiliate marketing.

Graham Cluley, Technical Consultant at Sophos, has his share to say about the incident.

“There are millions of video game lovers around the world, many of whom will visit Sony’s PlayStation website regularly to find out more about the latest console games,”

“Most would never expect that surfing a website like this could potentially infect them with malware.”

“It is essential that all websites, especially high profile ones like this, have been properly hardened to prevent hackers from injecting malicious code into legitimate web pages.”

It is especially alarming that this could happen with such a large personality like Sony and the Playstation 3. The hackers could have easily used the code to do more harm to users, making them bots or drones for more viral maliciousness. Imagine how easily a hacker could take out Blogosis. Oh Noezzz…

Hooker Accepts Gas Giftcards for Services

gasgiftcard_01c_01 Hooker Accepts Gas Giftcards for Services

Running low on cash, but wealthy in gasoline gift cards? If you just don’t give a damn about them, why don’t you head down to Cincinnati and pick yourself up a hooker. This story tells the true tragedy of rising gas prices.

Police in Cincinatti (which is a little odd because the arrest report says it took place in Fort Wright, Ky.) are saying they picked up a hooker that accepts $100 dollar gas giftcards in exchange for a little ’sucky sucky’. Too bad! All I have is this $25 Shell card. Can I still get a quickie?

“When people are selling their bodies for gas, that’s pretty sad,” Ken Easterling, chief prosecutor in the Kenton County Attorney’s Office, told The Cincinnati Enquirer.

Sounds like the prosecutor can feel for girls that sell themselves for cash, but gas? That is just too low.

Meetings with the John and the prostitute were arranged via online ads? Google PPC? I wonder if they had a good ROI. The wonders of Google.

Selling Your Self Like a…

Marketing sales blog girl

“Really good sales man” is how I was going to finish that title up.

So I want to talk to you all about selling yourself today, kiddos. I’ve been attempting to do this with myself for the past few days, because I’ve made the decision to go professional as a freelance writer. I’m not sure what many of my readers think of my writing style on this blog. I think it used to be good, but I’ve had to allocate less time for my writing now that I am working on many projects at a time. I probably shouldn’t be doing this. I’ll talk about that soon. Anyways, what have I been doing to sell myself?

Write some sales copies

This is an essential part of a freelance writer’s job. They do a lot of sales copies. I am not talking about writing for a client though; I am talking about writing then about you. I have about 5 different copies that I use to pick jobs off of forums. i could use just one, but I may never get a response. Instead, I write them into word, save them, copy and paste, and submit. I will wait a day to see if I got any orders, and if so, great! I will write down the amount of orders from that copy, and after the orders die down, I rotate. If a copy doesn’t get me clients, it gets shot out. This way, I can maximize my revenue by knowing what will work and what doesn’t. It’s all about testing the waters your audience sits in, much like bloggers do for their readers.

The Power of a Business Card

Pass out a business card. I am ordering some right now from a close friend of mine in the states. Ashley is an amazing freelance artist, illustrator, animator, graphic designer, and so many other things that I couldn’t list them. (You can check out her personal flash portfolio page here, and her deviant art account here) A business card can be handed to anyone. Give it to friends, give it to family, hand it out to businesses in your local area, drop a few on the floor at a mall (in a busy area that someone might pick them up). You may never know when someone, even if it is in a year, might be interested in what you can provide them.

I will be taking my business card around to Bangkok businesses lacking English menus, signs, or other advertisements to offer my translation services as well. I’ll take it to Thai websites to see if they are interested, too.

Build Up That Portfolio

If you have to, you might have to provide some things at a very low cost to none at all. Put your absolute highest effort into whatever you want to provide, and save it. Hold onto it and embrace it. If you feel like something you made is crap, that don’t use it. You will want to show clients what you are doing is something that you love and want to provide for them. I give out my top samples to any potential clients. It would be stupid not to. I don’t think I have to tell you this though.

Write a Blog About It

The main point of a blog is to write about something you love, something you are doing, or something you are thinking about. Well, it is also a great personal marketing tool. I am working on another blog design for my freelance content creation services, which will contain order forms, examples of my works, information about me, a resume, and a well updated blog about freelance writing. With a blog, you can show that you are a professional in the area of your service by providing excellent content about it. It can also help you pull in orders by showing off this expertise, as well as getting natural search engine traffic for some keywords. More clients, yo!

Keep Your Online Shadow Hidden

On forums, I’ve started to use an alias, and will only reveal my name to clients. Why? Because they will track it back to this blog. “Justin Dupre” in Google takes you straight to Blogosis. If clients read my quickly, poorly written blog posts, I might lose some clients. It would be bad enough if they read the poorly written things, but what if they read about those cute Thai girls. That would be great if I had to right some porn sales copies, but that is not what I’m all about, ya’ hear? I won’t be using my name as often here, and will change my post name to something else, as well. I don’t want my clients seeing that I wrote, “Damn, I got so drunk last night.” on my social networking profiles, so I will be lessening my shadow on those, as well.

There are some some things to think about there, especially in that last little thing I’m doing. Perhaps, I should become a little more anonymous than I am, in spite of what I have written about the topic on anonymity.

Blogging Persona’s: Anonymity

Blogging Person Anonymous

What do you think about a blogger’s ability to stay absolutely anonymous? You know, I might not really be Justin Dupre. I might be your daughter’s next stalker or something, waiting for someone to give me their personal information so I can find them. Rawr. Is anonymity an issue and do you choose to stay anonymous on your blog? I covered this in an argument with Blogger Noob once, but I’m gonna go over my ideas, again.

I think there is just that much more power to a blogger that retains his anonymity. They can pretend to be something/someone they really aren’t if they are good at it. I’ve done this on a blog of mine to see the results. I’ve had some mistakes which got noticed by a few people, but before that, it was going relatively well. I was able to pretend I was a professional in the niche. People believed me! It was funny how easy it was to trick people.

For those that are honest, and let the world know who they really are, more power to you, too. You didn’t need tricks and gimmicks to put you on your blog. People know you because of you. People appreciate honesty, and will count on you for more information, even if you aren’t a guru on the subject. If you can tell people even a little about what they don’t know already know in a certain niche, you are helping out. It is much more ethical that pushing out a barrel of lies.

Why should you lie? Well, you shouldn’t, but you can. It is always an open option for anyone choosing to make a blog, and especially a successful one. It is difficult though. You can’t go around making claims that you don’t really have evidence to support. You might have to mock up some images, or get someone to help you in your plans. You’ll have to tell a bare minimum of information, as well. I got in over my head which is why my other blog failed. It was an experiment and for a while, a successful one.

I think if you are considering blogging to make money, this may be your best way to start out. Do a ton of research, make a second persona, and pretend you know what you are talking about. Copy what little, tiny starter blogs are saying (Many have awesome info that hasn’t hit the mainstream, yet) and start blogging about it.

For those that don’t mind taking it slow and steady, do it the natural way. Ultimately, it is all down to the content you provide and how many people you can get to read it, no matter how you do it.

For me, I keep it cool for you on this blog.

Schedule It Yourself! Be Your Own Boss

Be Your Own | Boss Asian Guy

Ever since I started this whole online business and wanting to blog for money back in Early December, I didn’t know too far ahead of what I was doing. Well, the blogging thing has fallen through, but not all my online endeavors. They have since grown and expanded, and I am becoming a self-made entrepreneur. Just off of my freelance writing, if I were writing 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week, I would be making about 1500 - 2000 dollars a week. Of course, I wouldn’t dare work that much on writing, because I am just far too lazy. Haha. Thats one of the great things about being at the head of a company, or being self employed. It’s all about you! Be your own boss! Let me show you why I love it!

I get to make my own work schedule

I don’t have a paper schedule pinned to my wall telling me what days I need to be in the office and what time in the morning I need to get there. No bell goes off to tell me its break time, and I am not limited to just 2 breaks every 4 hours or however you people with an office job are suffering.

Instead, it is my watch and a very loose schedule. Most of my clients know this about me. They work with me, providing a very loose schedule, sometimes only telling me “No rush to get these articles, but whenever you have the time could you please write about _____ for me?” I can schedule 2 seconds before I am going to start writing. I can spend a sleepless night pumping out articles and working on developing graphics and other websites. I can take as many bathroom breaks, lunch and snack times, and nights out with my friends as I want without having to worry (too much) about a developed work schedule.

If I only want to work 1 hour a day (and that is about the average as of now), then I only have to work one hour a day. No more tedious 8 hour (or 14… yup I have had one of those) days for me. I take on as much work as I can handle for an hour a day and churn out the articles that need to get done the soonest (talking about my freelancing). Then I am done. I can go out, I can visit the beach or my supermodel girlfriend’s latest photo-shoot set, and enjoy the other 23 hours of the day.

Being my own boss has me freer than ever, giving me the time I need to do whatever I want while still gaining enough money to pay well more than the expenses I incur for daily life. That’s another great thing about being your own boss: It’s your prices and your terms. I think that will be a future post. Yeah, I think I just turned this into a series post.
