Alexa has updated! I want to say thanks to all the subscribers and those who just pass-by once and a while for getting Blogosis into the top million of website! Currently the blog’s rank is 843,131! This is excellent! Next, lets make it under 600,000!

I am officially, at least in Thailand, no longer a teenager. I still have about 11 hours till the official time, so I will try and enjoy these last years of truly being a kid.

They can be about the blogger that I am, my ideas on anything, or a random thing that has nothing to do with anything. I’m experimenting with new ads. WidgetBucks has been a really good performer, and I am making money with referals, too. They pay me for every click I get and 1000 views gets me a little cash, too. Bidvertiser has got me a grand total of 46 cents, but that was only 1 click. I’ve got a couple referals so maybe I’ll get some extra cash there too. Adbrite is a nice performer. I make about a cent for every 100 views, and I’ve built up a few clicks. This has been a great alternative to Adsense. If you want to help this blogger out on his birthday, sign up using my referral links (please… hahaha). This would make me a very happy birthday boy! And now I’m done selling you my affiliates. Oh wait, I also got paid using Sponsored Reviews. That made me a grand total of about 15 dollars. The writing I did for that money took less than 1 hour.

The best gift I’m getting this birthday? A guest post on Problogger.net! When Darren accepted my post I made sure I yelled a big “Hell yeah!” He said he will post it this weekend of early next week, so look for it! It’s a helpful post, but remains full of humor. I just want to say thanks to Darren Rowse for giving such a great opportunity to a new blogger like myself. It gives me a great sense of pride in my blog writing to be featured on Problogger.

One more thing, I’m doing some SEO on this blog. I’m shooting for big blogging keywords, so I doubt I will drag in much traffic, but if you work hard enough on something you may get what you ask for. That is what I am hoping for, at least. Perseverance is the key. Try, try, try again until you fail, and keep trying, learning from your failures. That is old knowledge though. I won’t bore you guys any longer.

Enough with me selling my contests, affiliates and blog notes, though. I went to see Cloverfield this night. The movie is really fun, grabs you, and takes you through a lot of dilemmas that makes you think “What if..?” Anyone else catch the film? It wasn’t quite what I expected, but still a good movie worth a matinée watch if not any other time of the day. Cloverfield even inspired me to write a blog post. You should see it up on Monday or someday around there. Make sure you subscribe to catch it.

What would I do with that $1500 dollar ticket to Affiliate Summit? I would get a real education, that is what I would get out of this ticket. I could be learning about the world of website affiliates at this conference. I could be networking with CEOs and other bloggers like myself. I could expand my horizons into that which is internet marketing. Unfortunately, Affiliate Summit is not where I’d be getting this real education.

How would I get that real education you ask? Well, first…

I would sell that ticket on Ebay. There must be some other sucker willing to buy that thing. To bad for him (or her), everything said, spoken, written, photographed and taped at this meeting will be online within one week after Affiliate Summit. I will be able to watch this all for free, so why not sell the ticket for an extra weeks wait. This is in no offense to you John, but bloggers should not have to be paying this much to hear you repeat what you have already said on your own blog.

Anyways, I would sell that ticket, yes I would, and apply that money towards my college degree in marketing. That is how what I would gain from my experience with Affiliate Summit. I would be supported, by you, in finishing an educational goal.

I hope you may still consider me for the running in this contest, Mr. Chow. The ticket would really help a student in need. I live off of student loans, and cannot work legally in the country I study in (Thailand). A quick 1500 bucks minus Ebay fees would be a blessing, and the thank yous you would receive from me would fill your mail box daily. So help a student out, Johny. With the new layout here, I’ve been adding a lot of changes to Blogosis. I think it is turning into a really lovely blog, but as you preobably notice, it is really crowded. It is all just testing to optimize the blog, and I am sorry for any inconvieniences. So of course you want to know what I’m doing to the blog, in fact what I am doing may be helpful for your blog. Read along to find out.

You probably notice the changes to the sidebar as of now. I’ve changed the ads I’m displaying there. I put in a WidgetBucks widget. Entrecard has now been transferred to this site, despite how much I hate Entrecard. It’s in experimental stage right now, and I figure you want to earn more credits for the Blogosis Contest, so now is your chance to drop your card here.

I’ve also created an ultra-sleek header. I’m thinking I might start selling graphics, so if you are interested, contact me a justindupre@blogosis.com.

I’ve started selling space ad spots on the side. If you’d like to purchase a spot, just click on the ad placeholder and it will open up to your email, and you can just send details on what you want. Ads will run for one month at a time. Buy a spot this week and I will take off $5 dollars.

At the end of my posts you may be seeing a new experiment I am running. I’m using an affiliate program and posting a link to one of their products at the end of the posts. It doesn’t get in the way of the content so it isn’t too distracting. You might want to try that on your posts, to generate some extra revenue.

In other news, I was looking at my other blog, one I never do anything with, and I looked at my PR. It is a PR7 blog! How? I have no idea. Go check for yourselves at Stumbled Here.Speaking of Stumbling, I had a huge hit count come from Stumble Upon yesterday. I guess someone stumbled that page where I said I will give away Entrecard credits. Entrecard? Come on, we all know Entrecard is crap. Anyways, it brought in 164 hits, with only a 23% bounce back rating. That is excellent!

Blog subscribers are up to 36 from 10 last week. Great conversion!

I have been emailing Darren Rowse of ProBlogger dot com, and it seems like I may be a future guest poster there. I am really excited for the opportunity, and psyched that he said he was interested in what I had to write. Look forward to some traffic if I get posted!!

I’ve experienced a giant bump in traffic suddenly. I am hoping that it is because of the refreshing new theme I spent about 6 hours modifying last night, but I am thinking word may finally be getting out about this contest. I entered a contest a few days on BloggerNoob a few days ago. To test out the new 125×125 ads he will be selling on his site, he held a contest to open the spots free. He was thinking he’d only get about 4 takers, but in the end over 30 signed up. He randomly picked 6 ads, and now we will be directly linked from a strong up and coming blog.

If you don’t know much about Noob, he has some really useful tips when it comes to blogging. He is a bit crude, but he is just trying to get his point across.  BloggerNoob is one blog I read daily.

Anyways. I need to post my ad here for Noob to pick up. Hopefully, I will be seeing some extended traffic to the site. I know my ad is a bit odd, but I’m not much for making logos. I just tried to make it contrast from the red of his site.

In better news for me, my subscriber count jumped from 14 to 23 today. I’m really excited to see this blog growing and I hope my knowledge will be able to help a lot of other bloggers out there.

What is the best way to increase blog traffic? Start a contest. People want free money, so give it to them. You can’t just throw a contest and expect that traffic to stay afterwards. I feel like I have a pretty foolproof plan of what I am going to do to get that traffic, and how to keep it.

Here is the plan for the Monthly Blogosis Contest.

Every month there will be one winner randomly drawn. This winner will get a cash prize of an uncertain amount. Why am I unsure? Because it is constantly fluctuating, getting bigger and bigger. The prize: 10% of all my online income. This includes income from my Squidoo lenses, my other blogs ( moneyandblog dot com and stumbledhere dot com), my Adsense profits, any affiliate programs I use… absolutely every way I make money will give you a chance to make more money.

What? That is crazy, Justin! Hell yes it is, but I figure it’s the only way I will ever get traffic to this blog. Imagine that if in 1 year, I am making 10,000 dollars a month (I am only aiming for about 500, but you never know). That gives one lucky subscriber $1,000.

What is the point of this contest? Obviously to increase traffic to this blog, as well as my RSS subscribers numbers. I feel it is completely worth the money, as subscribers are hard to come by without the right connections. This is my attempt to make those connections.
