The Monthly Blog Contest Ends Today

Yeah! Just thought I would remind you all here, now, that any extra entries for the blogosis monthly blog contest end today. I haven’t added up the entries, but i don’t think it is as strong as it was last month. The amount of email subscribers may have gone up, but thats about it. So, if you did everything for all 11 chances, you might stand a pretty good chance to win.

So, you are gonna get about 90 dollars (10% of what I make online each month; tracked on the side bar) if you win, and 350+ Entrecard credits that I have gathered over the month.

Yup, just a little reminder that you could win. Check back in a couple days to see the winner.

How have I been, you might not be asking? I’m not too shabby. I am a bit tired, but not too bad at all. My grades in class are slipping from a 3.8 GPA to probably less than 3, but I am not too interested in school anymore. I make more than enough money to live, working only an hour a day, however the heck I want to here in Thailand, and if I could find someway to stay here without an Education visa, I would probably take it. My parents would kill me for that one, but gotta live your one life the way you want to.

I’m going to stop this post before I rant… I had a really good idea from that last sentence to rant on…

So you live in Thailand? Going to school there? What the stats on becoming a permenant resident? Bet much lower cost of living there huh?
My husband wants to retire in Kosovo! Said the standard income over there is $800 a year, so with s.security we could live WELL over there, like in a mansion and all, oh and not to mention, he says he could have 2 wives! NOT! LOL
Just got back from Italy yesterday!! Way to expensive!! Nice place to visit but wouldn’t want to live there!

I think you can retire here after a certain age, and you are making a certain amount of money every month. Otherwise you might need connections or something, maybe get married (which you can probably just pay someone to do… lol). Or you can get a work permit. Most foreigners just find a place to teach… hella easy to get if you have white skin.

I rent two apartments here for less than the cost of an apartment anywhere in the United States (without elec. and water fees (which ussually are around 10 - 50 dollars total) they are less than 300 together. I only rent two because I travel between Hua Hin and Bangkok so much that it is cheaper to rent than stay in a hotel (although you can ussually rent those at low monthly costs too. Serviced apartments with a bedroom and kitchen normall start around 300-500 dollars. Two bedrooms might be around 500+. You can get a condo for less than 100,000 if you are looking in the right place. You could get a house for less, but foreigners can’t own land, so you would have to have a Thai buy it for you, which could make problems if they aren’t trustworthy.

I spend 3-5 dollars a day on food. On a cheapp day I can do less. You can certainly go more if you want to eat burger king and crap like that all day. Thai food is better.

Average income for a thai is less thai I think was somewhere around 2000 dollars a year… but that includes everyone from the very poor to the very rich.

I think middle class will make around 60 dollars for an 8 hour work day. Thats what my host parents were making outside of bangkok as managers of a bank. Starting wage is about 60 cents an hour.

Bangkok is more expensive than anywhere else. Then come the other tourist towns. I hate them… Hua Hin is one of them. Love BKK though, and the others are nice for traveling and getting away. I’m a city slicker.
