Looking around the blogging community, mostly noticeable is the amount of new bloggers popping up. Maybe it’s because I am still pretty new to a new wealth of knowledge, blogging and blogger communities, and social media, but 2008 seems like it may be the year for blogging to really explode.
The internet has been getting ready for the kind of personal expression a blog can provide for years, but never reached the point where it has been essential. Myspace has boomed with users, Facebook is steaming with advanced features and projects asking for more users, and several other social media sites like Hi-5 and Twitter are on the rise. The world is on that edge now, where a blog will become the biggest form of mass media.
Everyone and their mom is getting acquainted with blogging. My mom and dad knew what a blog was when I told them I run several of them. I was shocked. They said they even look at a few then and now again. Word of mouth seems to be on the run with this as well. Shelly says Bob says Betty said you should see that “insert controversial issue” on “insert domain name for blog here.” The amount of expression and reach blogs are getting span across the world to places I never thought possible.
And now, with the huge technology advancements with have seen in data communications for the past couple of years, we are only being asked to tell our daily happening, several times a day. People are able to blog from a coffee shop and a train station, using their Blackberry cell phone, and now internet connections are made possible with iPods… iPods!
So, is the big boom coming this year? Has it already come and gone? What do you think will happen with blogging in 2008? Hi, I read your posts, try to daily! I am still a new blogger, so I am spending alot of time learning, which in finding your blog, you give very useful information. That’s why I subscribed to your blog!! I started my blog in Dec., and now a couple of days ago I finally figured out how to set up rss feed, and also blogrolling!! Such work but loving it. I read your post about setting goals, humm, I really don’t have any goals as in blogging,do have ideas though that will hopefully be implimented in the future,otherwise just do what I can as I learn(still have a lot to learn), and time. As for the year of the blog. I think it is, just the short time I have been introduced to blogging I have seen such and increase, it’s becoming the way of communication.
So speaking for myself, just because I don’t comment, doesn’t mean I am not reading!! So if you post, think to yourself, “hey I know Marcia’s reading this!
